STRING THEORY (2022)
What lies between two walls is the most significant.
It is a network that connects communities, the memories that shape a life,
the air we breathe and exchange from mouth to mouth.
String Theory is a meditation on invisible force and of rhizomes unseen.
On a hill in Potsdam is an abandoned telecom company. Buildings filled daily by people, left alone to ants, slugs, and spiders. In one of these buildings, String Theory was installed.
Tucked beneath a flight of stairs, a web of stings and slide projector become a single being. An empty and forgotten space transforms into room for possibility. Strings run through the slide projection to images, from bannister to a wall shaded by a poster that once hung. By following the strings and the materials they connect, every absence becomes a presence, and empty space materializes. This piece exists in the land of in-between: the natural and the artificial, the real and the imagined, the material and the ethereal.
